The need to increase base electricity by the year 2010 was identified by Integrated Strategic Electrical Planning Process (ISEP) applied by Eskom. Derived from the National Integrated Resource Plan (NIRP) driven by the National Energy Regulator, is the conclusion that South Africa will have to depend on coal as fuel for the next 20 years and coal-fired power station will be require generation capacity expansion. Eskom is building 2 power station in Mpumalanga and Limpopo and Thabo Consulting Engineering is part of the project management team for site services.
